KENSHIN'S ENEMIES

MAKOTO SHISHIO

The leader of the Juppongatana. The successor of title Battosai. He was once an ally of the Meiji Government but because of too much information or secrets he knew about the Government he was shot to the head and was burnt alive to make him quiet for the rest of his life.

But the the government failed to kill Shishio totally he was able to survive the tragic incident and was able to form a clan that was against the Meiji Government.  

JUPPONGATANA

Group of swordsmen and the greatest fighters or attackers under the orders of Shishio. Each member has different skills but having only one resentment against the Meiji Government. The members are the following: Seta Soujiro known as The Tenken, Kariwa Henya known as The Flighted, Honjo Kamatari known as The Large Scythe, Yukyuzan Anji as The Destroyer, Sadojima Hoji known as The Knowledged, Sawagejo Cho as The Sword Hunter, Uonoma Usui known as The Blind Swordsman, Iwanbo as The Round Demon, Saizuchi of the Destruction Army known as The Destroying Yin, and last is Fuji of the Destruction Army known as The Destroying Yang.

ONIWABANSHU

Originally Oniwaban group is a government- employed ninja establish by the Tokugawa Shogun. This group was hired by Kanryu to secure his opium business. Eventually they met Kenshin in a more unexpected manner and has been defeated.  the members of the group namely: Han'nya, Shikijo, Beshimi, and Hyottoko gave their lives in order to save their master in the Gotling gun of Mr. Kanryu 

SAITO HAJIME

Former Capatain of the 3rd Squad Loyalist Shinsengumi. He considered Kenshin as a rival and still holds on to the score that they need to settle up to now. Currently, Saito is an agent for the Meiji Government's De3partment of Internal Affair. 

He joined force with Kenshin during the fight to Shishio but after that he left without a trace. For him, Kenshin is only an adversary and not an ally.
